My down below is stinging and irritated inside could it be hormones?

ive had this for about 3 weeks i know i should consult my doctor but its stinging and irritated i started my period about 21 days ago could it be hormonel im 14 years old its quite faint now but i dont have any other symptons and some days it used to be quite painfull any ideas what it could be
