How many flakes of fish food should I feed my betta?

I have the Tetra BettaMin Tropical Medley fish food, and I usually feed him a pinch every morning, but I'm starting to feel like it's way too much. My friend said only to feed him about three flakes...is this right? Am I overfeeding my fish?
