302 from an 88 bronco with a manny swapped into a 92 bronco with an auto, would it work?

I'm buying my first vehicle, my dads 92 bronco has a blown engine and I would much rather have that. It has a 302 engine block, I found an 88 bronco for sale with a 302 and a manual transmission, would swapping it into the 92 work since the 92 has an automatic?
