Ball lighting. (as seen on National Geographic) What do you think about it? A new field of science?

It's nothing new, It's been around forever. Old sailors used to call it St Elmos fire. It's probably as close to fusion as you can get on Earth. Fusion reactors (which cannot create more energy then you put in) can do the same thing.
